The League of Women Voters will defend attacks against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as part of the national strategic response to the first 100 days of the new federal administration, as outlined by LWVUS CEO Celina Stewart during her address to our membership February 5. Defending attacks against DEI is a Silver Priority.
Please join us on Friday, February 28 as we participate in a 24-hour economic blackout protesting the rollback of DEI within the federal administration. We are activating around national action.
As forms of protest continue to evolve in an ever-changing world, economic blackouts are another way of harnessing one’s individual power and taking a stance. While corporations roll back their initiatives related to DEI, it is critical that we use our collective voice as consumers to stand against these attacks.
If you are able to do so, we encourage you to avoid large corporations and instead shop at small businesses if you need to make a purchase on Friday. You can find a list of suggested corporations/purchases to avoid HERE.
